Under this assignment Wadaag analysed the honey and beekeeping sector, which the Somalia Resource Mapping and Investor Guide identifies as a priority investment opportunity alongside the frankincense and cotton value chains and supporting services such as cold storage, irrigation and manufacturing of sprayers and pesticides.
We mapped actors across the value chain, assessed production capacity and export potential, identified gaps in processing and cold‑storage infrastructure and proposed policy measures and investment incentives. The study’s findings and our recommendations informed SOMINVEST’s investment promotion campaigns and helped prioritise agri‑value chain interventions.
